Today's Tidal Bores: Loading...

Race the Bore – Riverview, NB

The Petitcodiac River has been a vital waterway for centuries and holds deep cultural significance for the Mi'kmaq people, who have lived along its banks for generations. Racing along this river means becoming part of a powerful story—one shaped by time, tides, and tradition.

Approximately every 12 hours, a tidal bore surges up the river — a rare natural event where the incoming tide forms a visible wave that rushes inland against the current. It's a dramatic natural phenomenon that shapes life along its muddy banks.

Unlike any other race, this unique event pits you against a literal wave — a tidal bore pushing upriver at surprising speed. Can you outrun the tide?
